FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What information do I need to order parts for my tractor or mower.

It is very important to have the Make, Model Number and Serial Numbers when placing a parts order.

How often do the blades on my mower need to be sharpened?

Blades on your mower should be sharpened after every 8 hours of cutting.  A sharp blade cuts the grass smoothly and evenly depending on your specific conditions.

Which is better to use, a regular lawn mower blade or a mulching lawn mower blade?
A mulching blade is better for your lawn and our environment.  A mulching blade allows the grass to be cut fine, leaving it on the yard to help return nutrients to the lawn and eliminates solid waste in our ever growing landfills.

How often should my lawn mower's oil be changed?

Just like your car, the oil is the engine's life blood and should be maintained.  Not only for longevity of your engine but for cleaner emissions.  The oil should be changed after approximately 50 hours of use or, every season, whichever comes first.

How often should my lawn mower's air filter be changed?

Under dusty conditions approximately every 25 hours of use.  If he conditions aren't dusty, it should be replaced each time the oil is changed.  Be observant to filter element color change.  A blow out with compresed air from the inside out can be helpful.

What about my other lawn equipment, such as my edger and other power equipment.  How often should the oil and filters be changed?
The same rules apply as for your lawn mower for oil and air filter changes.  The blades on a lawn edger should be changed every season and more often as wear dictates.

How do I know if I should I buy a lawn mower or a tractor?

Generally speaking, if you have an acre or more of property, then you might want to consider purchasing a tractor. Or, if your lawn is uneven or abnormally thick and lush, the tractor might be the ride for you.  Consult your dealer with your specific applications for suggestions.  Not a Big Box store!!

Why should I buy from a Dealer?

Most people don't ask this but I'm going to tell you anyway.
Buying a mower from your nearest handydiscountmart may seem like a good idea when you pay for it and it's new. It may not seem so good should you encounter any problems, which are more likely to happen when you buy from those sources. When you purchase from a dealer, you have a partner that you can go to for any problem. Whether it's parts, warranty, accessories, or just general "picking your brain" help, your dealer is always there to give you the service you expect. Green Acres is committed to customer satisfaction. If you have a problem, we have a problem. We will do everything within our power to make sure you have a pleasant experience while on your yard.
